Dolphin Scuba offer PADI scuba diving courses from beginner divers tickets to advanced and technical courses. If you are considering becoming a scuba diver, we’ve answered some commonly asked scuba diving questions most beginners have about the summer water activity.
Can you go scuba diving without being certified?
Just like you are not allowed to drive a car without a driver’s licence, you require a scuba diving certification to go scuba diving. Why? Because scuba diving training equips divers with the necessary skills, information, and safety protocols necessary for the water activity. Individuals who dive without a scuba diving certification can put their health at great risk, and increase their chances of developing decompression sickness or having part of their dive gear malfunction.
Do I need any training for my scuba diving certification?
Anyone over the age of 14 is eligible to enrol in the PADI Open Water Diver program; however, keen younger scuba divers can still take the PADI Junior Open Water Diver program if they cannot wait until they turn 15. You will need to be in good health, reasonably fit and comfortable in the water – so if you’re scared of the deep perhaps scuba diving isn’t the summer water activity for you. You will need to bring your own basic dive gear (mask, snorkel, boots and fins – or you can rent these things from us), bathers and completed knowledge reviews with you on your first day. The remaining scuba equipment will be provided to dive students by Dolphin Scuba.
How much does a scuba diving licence cost?
Dolphin Scuba’s PADI Open Water Course will cost $525 and follows an individualised training program that allows no more than three students per instructor. Transport, pool and certification fees are all inclusive plus students will receive a voucher towards a dive gear package with Dolphin Scuba.
How long does a scuba diving certification take?
You can become a qualified scuba diver in as little as two days! Learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, dive equipment and techniques by completing dives both in the pool and in open water (ocean or river).
