Ships, aeroplanes, cars and other wrecks found under the surface are always fascinating to explore and usually become inhabited by an abundance of aquatic life. Each wreck offers a chance for a challenge, discovery and exploration!

Why be certified?

Whether wrecks have been sunk for diving purpose, or lost as the result of an accident – wrecks are always fascinating windows to the past. The Wreck Diver course is popular as it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.

What will I learn?

There are many different types of wrecks, many of which are protected by laws and guidelines. During 4 open water dives you will learn; safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks, surveying and mapping a wreck, using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration, techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck or the life around it.

How long will it take?

If you completed a wreck dive as part of your Advanced Adventure Diver course: you will need to complete 2 wreck dives. If you didn’t complete a wreck dive as part of your Advanced Adventure Diver Course: you will need to complete 3 wreck dives.

Prerequisites

You need to be at least 15 years old and certified as an Advanced Adventure Diver .

Medical Requirements:

You will be asked to complete the Medical Questionnaire when enrolling in any scuba diving course with Dolphin Scuba. This questionnaire is designed to identify any health issues that could cause complications while diving. If you answer ‘no’ to all the questions you won’t need to do any more.
