Solo Diver

 

Why become a solo diver?

There a number of divers out there who regularly dive solo, often without the proper training and pre-requisites to do this safely. The solo diver course will introduce the concepts and practice of redundancy dive planning and safe solo diving techniquies. 

What do I need to start?

You must be certified as an Advanced Open Water diver or equivalent.

Be 21 years of age

Have 100 logged dives 

What will I do?

Solo diver training will prepare you to become a self-sufficient diver, able to prevent, anticipate and deal with problems underwater. A significant proportion of the course will be devoted to helping the individual diver establish his or her personal limits.

How long will it take?

The solo diver course takes place over one and a half days, beginning with a classroom discussion followed by shallow water skill development and drills. The second day will consists of 2 boat dives where the diver can put their solo diving theory and development into practice. 

What does the course include?

The course price of $395 includes

Your solo diver manual, solo diver slate, boat trip to Rottnest, air fills and certification fees.

What do I need to provide?

You need to supply you own scuba gear plus a redundant air supply system e.g pony bottle, twin cylinders with isolation valve, independent doubles or spare air. You will also need visual and audible diver signaling devices ( SMBs, whistle, diver alerts, mirrors) 

Redundant air supply cylinders and regs are available for hir for the duration of the course at a cost of $15.
