August 06 Newsletter
Okay, okay we've been a bit slack with the newsletters! Sorry
folks, if only you lot would stop diving and give us here at Dolphin
Scuba a chance to get on with it!!!
The Exmouth trip was great success. The water was lovely and warm,
the marine life was out in force. The Navy Pier dives were fantastic,
with loads of super-sized fish swimming about. No one got banned
from coming back next year either, an additional bonus.
The conditions up North are very good at the moment. We've got
some great 3mm Abyss steamers (with hood!) for sale at $120 (rrp
$285). This is great value and they're the perfect suit for warm
water diving or paddling.
Diving
in Albany went swimmingly in June. The highlight of the trip was
not the Perth wreck but the ultra-playful sealions. It was just
amazing to swim and play around with them in the kelp.
Congratulations
to Rodney Gibbs, Matt Harvey and Sam Pearce for becoming PADI Instructors.
They all did exceptionally well during the PADI IE (Instructor Exam).
More pats on the back to Sean Saunders, Barry Scriven and Bruce
Hartley for reaching the dizzy heights of PADI Divemaster. Well
done to you all.
The trip to Cocos (Keeling) was fantastic. The group had a great
time above and below the water. There were mantas, dolphins, turtles
and lots of sharks along with some spectacular corals and reef fishes.
A HUGE thank you to Dieter and Karen from Cocos Dive for looking
after us all so well. If you're thinking about Truk Lagoon next
year, you'd better be quick as spaces are selling out fast. Truk

Technical Divers get Qualified
Huge
congratulatons to some of our divers who have embarked on dive courses
with a little difference. These guys and girls have entered the
world of decompression diving. Armed with the required training
and equipment they can safely extend their bottom times and/or depths.
Congratulations to Kim and Karen Woodcock, Peter Moss, and Rod Gibbs
on completeting the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures
Courses. Ben Ferguson, Matt Young and Scott Patrick are now qualified

We've got some great new stuff from Sharkskin in the shop. If you
haven't tried this out
you should. We've got lots of hoods
in our rental stock which you are welcome to "try-before-you-buy".
If you talk nicely to us we may even let you try out long-sleeve
vests
as long as we're not wearing them!
