This is a really gorgeous site and so much fun to dive. I gets its name because the bubbles from your scuba rest on the roofs of the swim throughs and big open caves making it look like sparkling crystal. I have been lucky enough to dive it at night and during the day and it is spectacular.
A little bit of surge makes the swim throughs that much more fun, feels like you are flying. You can find plenty of occys, eels, wobbygong, scorpion fish, schooling fish and people have even been lucky enough to spot the ever elusive leafy seadragon. If you do it as a night dive you can travel back to freo sipping on a cold beverage, youÆll be hard pressed to find a better way to finish the day.
MOST MEMORABLE DIVE Busselton Jetty
Busselton Jetty is special to me because I did my first ever night dive there and my life changed. As I descended into the darkness of my first night dive a numb ray swam right up to me, had a look at me and took off (probably because I screamed at it) at that moment, heart racing, I realised how lucky I was to be able to witness and be part of this alien environment. There was so many different species of fish, schools of them and nudiÆs, soft corals on the pylons, rays, occyÆs I didnÆt know where to go or what to look at first. It is a really eerie place and night, big pylons with fish hovering in their sleep and just a few having a feed. During the day it is a natural aquarium, a real hive of activity and colour. Just beautiful.
