TDI Extended Range

Why become a TDI Extended Range diver?

Certain areas of the world provide spectacular dives at depths deeper than 39m/130 feet but you will not have access (or very limited access) to helium. The TDI Extended Range course teaches you the proper techniques for utilizing compressed air as a breathing gas and with a maximum depth of 55m/180 feet you wont have to miss out on those dives!

What do I need to start?

  • Be a minimum age of eighteen (18).

  • Be certified as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver (or equivalents) is required.

  • Have a minimum of one hundred (100) logged dives, of which twenty (25) must be deeper than thirty (30) msw / one hundred (100) fsw.

What will I do?

Your TDI Instructor will provide you with valuable information and skills, the topics that will be covered are as following

  • Equipment requirements and configuration

  • Decompression options

  • Use of surface marker buoys

  • Buddy rescue

  • Narcosis checks and management

What does the course include?

The cost of $995 will give you 4 dives to a maximum of 55 metres, materials and certification.

Materials for this course include the TDI Extended Range Diving Manual and the US Navy or Buhlmann Air Decompression Tables (made of vinyl for easy in-water use and storage).

What do I need to provide?

Technical diving is generally very equipment involved, your TDI Instructor will go over the specific requirements at the beggining of your course and what pieces of equipment you will need to supply. Gas blends and cylinders are not included in the cost of the course.

Where can I go from here?

After you have completed your Extended Range course you can further your knowledge and education by continuing on and doing your TDI Trimix diver, Advanced Trimix or Nitrox Blender course.
